Winter Season 2026 registrations are now open

We’re excited to officially open registrations for the VJIHL Winter Season 2026.

VJIHL is more than just a league. It is a place where young players grow, compete, build confidence, and form lifelong friendships in a fun, structured, and supportive environment.

With weekly games, a strong focus on development, and opportunities for both new and returning players, VJIHL is a great way for junior players to enjoy the game while continuing to improve their skills.

What to expect

The VJIHL Winter Season is designed to give players regular game experience in a positive and development-focused setting.

Players can look forward to:

  • A 22-game season, including the Semi-Finals and the Grand Final
  • Weekly Saturday games at Olympic Ice Skating Centre
  • Peewee and Bantam divisions
  • A strong focus on fun, development, and teamwork
  • Opportunities to build confidence, friendships, and game experience

Location: Olympic Ice Skating Centre, Oakleigh
Game day: Saturdays

Peewees

  • 4:45 pm
  • 6:00 pm

Bantams

  • 12:00 pm
  • 1:15 pm

Bantam Division - Checking Information

Modified checking rules apply in the Bantam division to support player development and safety.

This includes:

  • No open hits
  • A focus on body positioning
  • Angling and safe contact
  • Confidence-building through controlled play

These rules are designed to help players develop safely while building confidence in game situations.

Who can join?

VJIHL welcomes:

  • Peewee and Bantam players
  • New players joining for the first time
  • Returning players continuing their development
  • Players are placed into teams based on age and ability

The league is designed to support a wide range of junior players and provide an environment where everyone can learn, improve, and enjoy the game.

Spots are limited

Places are limited, so early registration is recommended to secure your spot for the Winter Season.
