What Home League focuses on

Home League is designed to help players transition from skill development to gameplay.

Players take part in full-ice games with an umpire, goals, and usually a goalie, giving them the opportunity to experience how hockey is played in a more realistic setting.

Through fun and structured gameplay, players begin learning how the game works while continuing to grow their confidence on the ice.

What players will learn

As players take part in Home League, they begin developing a better understanding of important game concepts, including:

  • team positioning
  • game flow
  • basic hockey rules, such as offside
  • confidence in a game environment
  • decision-making while playing

This helps players connect the skating and movement skills they have already developed with the practical side of playing hockey.

A fun and supportive environment

Home League is designed to be a positive and enjoyable step in a player’s hockey journey.

The focus is not only on learning the game, but also on helping players:

  • stay active
  • build friendships
  • grow in confidence
  • enjoy being part of a team environment
  • develop a love for the game

By learning through play, players can continue improving in a way that feels exciting, rewarding, and engaging.

Why choose Home League?

Home League is a great next step for players who are ready to move beyond skill-based development and begin understanding how hockey is played in a game setting.

It gives players the opportunity to:

  • apply their skating and movement skills in real game situations
  • develop confidence through structured play
  • learn positioning, flow, and basic rules
  • enjoy hockey in a fun and encouraging environment

A pathway into gameplay

Home League helps bridge the gap between development sessions and real hockey games.

It gives players the chance to experience the sport more fully while continuing to build their confidence, understanding, and enjoyment of the game.

For many players, it is the next important step in their hockey pathway.
