    Enjoy ice skating at the Olympic Ice Skating Centre in Oakleigh South. Public sessions run weekly across weekdays and weekends, with no booking required — simply purchase tickets at the front desk.
    Skate hire is included, and penguin aids are available for beginners. Dress warmly and arrive early during busy periods.

    Celebrate your child’s birthday with a fun ice skating party at the Olympic Ice Skating Centre. Packages include skate hire, a dedicated host, beginner games, reserved seating, food and drinks. Penguin aids support younger skaters. Weekday and weekend options available.

  • Learn to Play Ice Hockey

    Join ice hockey at the Olympic Ice Skating Centre in Oakleigh South. Our NLHA Adult Ice Hockey Classes run structured Friday night terms for beginner to intermediate players, combining skill development and game time. Junior Ice Hockey Programs build skating ability, confidence and core hockey fundamentals in a fun, supportive environment.

    At the Olympic Ice Skating Centre, our programs create a clear pathway from beginner to confident skater. Skate School Classes follow the nationally recognised Aussie Skate™ levels, building balance and control. SilverBlades offers relaxed adult sessions with coaching and practice time. Adult Learn to Skate Classes guide adults through Levels 1–10 in a supportive environment.

    Saturday Night Disco Skate brings laser lights, lively music and a fun party atmosphere to the ice.

FAQs

Can I bring food outside into the rink?

Outside food and drinks are not permitted, except for bottled water. During public skate sessions, our cafe offers a great range of hot and cold food and drinks for you to enjoy.

What is the minimum age?

The minimum age to enter the ice arena is 3 years. You can hire skate aids for $10 and use them for the entire session. Children may hold the aid or be guided by an adult; however, adults must never carry a child in their arms while on the ice.

What is the smallest & largest skate size?

The smallest skate we have is a youth size 7 (25 Euro/size 8.5 US), and the largest skate we have is an adult size 14 (48 Euro/size 14 US).

I'm not skating, do I pay?

Spectators are free at the Olympic Ice Skating Centre

Can I bring my own skates?

Yes, of course! You’re welcome to bring your own skates. If you forget them, skate hire is included with your entry, and you can choose from hockey or figure skates.

What is the rink temperature?

The temperature can range from 10°C-15°C, but you’ll warm up quickly once you start skating.

Do you offer birthday parties?

Is there somewhere to store my belongings?

Yes, we have lockers hire for $10.

What should I wear to the rink?

We recommend dressing in layers, as you will warm up as you skate and move. Long socks are a must, as they provide extra protection for your feet. If you’re watching, you can stay comfortable in our heated cafe while you enjoy the session.

Are you open on public holidays?

Yes, we’re open on most public holidays. Please check our website for updated hours https://www.icerink.com.au/

Do you have protective equipment?

We don’t provide protective equipment, but you are welcome to bring your own.

Do I need to book?

No online booking is required for our public sessions. Admission tickets can be purchased at the front desk.

What payment options are available?

Most options are covered - we accept Visa, Mastercard, American Express, cash payments and EFTPOS.

Do you have a shop for hockey gear or figure skates?

Yes, we have a Pro Shop Staffed Tuesday, Thursdays, Friday, Saturdays & Sunday.

What’s the cost of parking?

Parking is free at OISC!
