Many young people who complete the Aussie Skate Program choose to take up Ice Hockey, the fastest team sport in the world.

The Victorian Ice Hockey Development Council, is a program auspice by the Victorian Ice Hockey Association catering for prospective players. The program aims to teach players the required ice hockey skills, which will enable them to be eligible for the draft to an Ice Hockey Club after successful completion of the “A” and “B” assessment. The basic requirement is the ability to skate.

Players can commence anytime between the 1st Tuesday in February and the last Tuesday in November. Session runs from 5.30pm – 7.00pm. Cost is $20.00 per session. Cost includes coaching, use of hire skates, helmet and hockey stick. Insurance and membership of “Ice Hockey Australia” of $58.00 p.a. (under 18) or $71.00 p.a. (over 18) is also payable.

The Ice Hockey winter season operates between April and September. The games are played as follows:

Saturday Juniors – U13 and U16
12.00pm – 2.00pm
Juniors U20
4.15pm – 5.30pm
Seniors – Open Age 5.45pm – 7.45pm
Sunday Juniors – U13 and U16 12.00pm – 2.00pm
Juniors U20 4.15pm – 5.30pm
Seniors – Open Age Check with office
Monday, Tuesday & Thursday Juniors & Seniors – Training 7.45pm – 10.15pm

A Summer League ( modified rules ) also operates from October – March. Check the Office.
